Product development
Making your business stand out through scientific and technological brilliance is what we’re all about. Ensuring you maintain control of all IP related to a project, we can help you to create the product that you imagine is possible, even if you’re not yet sure exactly how it will come together.
What that means varies from project to project. Perhaps it’s a software or ergonomic interface, or perhaps it’s the creation of a whole new material that no-one else has ever considered or developed. We can take on a part of the project or go from nothing to full working prototype with buildability notes – whatever suits your business needs.
As an example, we have a focus here on the development of control systems. At Leading Technology Developments we consider the whole picture; if we’re helping to develop propulsion systems that are truly cutting-edge, we ought to develop control systems that are too.
Our in-house skills extend to software development, ergonomics, UI and more, so we develop revolutionary HMIs to ensure our technology is as good to use as it is efficient.
We have developed a vehicle feedback system that does away with dials and numbers, instead using colour codes to warn drivers if they’re travelling too fast, and have innovated a ‘force joystick’ that recognises a range of complex inputs without ever actually moving. We anticipate this device being located centrally within a vehicle’s cabin, negating the need for vehicle manufacturers to develop left and right-hand versions for global markets.
We are also working on new ways of looking at active suspension, GPS, vehicle autonomy, torque-vectoring and anti-skid systems. Each of these systems comes with multiple redundancies built-in for safety reasons.
Our product development process:
– Customer specification
– Number of design ideas shown
– ID the most suitable
– Modelling and simulation
– Data to customer for approval
– Commission for manufacturing
– In-house assembly
– Testing and verification
Our experience also covers: rotary systems; surface modelling; electric vehicles and components; robotics; electronics; motor design; systems design; all to our customers’ standards.
